I am an Internet junkie. Eversince DSL has been introduced tothe Philippine shores I’ve been meaning to subscribe to one. A lot of broadband/DSL providers are already available - PLDT, Smart, Globe, Bayantel/SkyDSL. I told myself before that I’llget myself a DSL subscription when I got a laptop or a PC of my own so I could not share it to my siblings. It is hard to share a PC with your siblings, I tell you. So years had passed and we’re still not yet on DSL. Lately, I’ve been bugging my father to allow us to get DSL. The main problem here is we don’t have a decent PC here at home.Decent meaning bigger hard disk capacity, better memory, withLAN card - typically the kind of computer desktops on sale right now. We have two desktops here at home - one that is being shared by us siblings or  should I say, the one often used by my brother and the other one solely for my father. Both are on Pentium III, no LAN cards and hard disks with only 20G capacity. Jurassic is the right term to describe these two computers. The one I’m using right now is soooo uber slow and I think this is infected by trojans, viruses and whatnots.So before we get a DSL subscription, I asked my father to buy a decent computer first. I’m hoping he’d be able to find one ASAP!! I have also been researching on the best DSL our area have. We are in Quezon City, within the vicinity of Cubao. I have read that BayanDSL (formerly SkyDSL) is running good in our area. I don’t have plans of getting PLDTDsl or SmartBro. I don’t want to be stressed with numerous complaints to their TSRs. If only I’m richer, I would get Globe Visibility — definitely exclusive for my needs but unfortunately, my budget is not applicable for that. Yes, I’ll pay for the DSL .. well 60% as what we’ve dealt here in the house.For now, since the decent computer is nowhere to be found, I have to rely on our good old dial-up until God knows when. I’m hoping it would be in the near future - before this year ends!
