American Idol 7 Top 12 Guys

I nearly forgot that it’s the performance night of American Idol 7 Top 12 Boys. Good thing I was able to surf channels and came across an AI 7 replay.

The show started with Ryan Seacrest’s dropping a line - “People are saying that this year’s talent is the best yet”. The theme for tonight is song from the 60’s.

The Top 12 performance is the start of measuring who will last until the Top 6. Tonight’s performances also opens us to the best and worst among the Top 12 guys. As any other talent show, there were great, safe and bad.

David Hernandez - In the Midnight Hour (Wilson Pickett)
First performance of the night. Good vocals. I kinda like his performance actually but he seems kinda stiff. Was it just me or he just did some little movements? Paula said that it’s kinda difficult to be the first performer.

Chikezie - I Love You More Today Than Yesterday (Stevie Wonder)
The song he chose actually reminded me of the Ayala Malls after the establishment used it on their commercial. I agree with what Simon had commented. The outfit was hideous. I think he thought that his suit reflects what the 60’s is. Chikezie has a good voice but the suit is disturbing, add the orange background to that.

David Cook - Happy Together (The Turtles)
I didn’t quite understand his performance. Was he like being a rockstar? Strong vocals.

Jason Yeager - Moon River (from Breakfast at Tiffany’s)
The guy with the adorable kid. I love the song but his performance will make you doze to sleep, feels like a lullaby.

Robbie Caprico - One (Three Dog Night/Harry Nilsson)
I like his performance. Unforgettable is the word.

David Archuleta - Shop Around (The Miracles)
David maybe the youngest in the group but he’s the most famous guy in the batch, I think. You can tell in his performance that he is still a kid. He has the voice but then he is still a kid. People will vote him not by his performance but by his charm.

Danny Noriega - Jailhouse Rock (Elvis Presley)
Danny Noriega is the next Sanjaya. I can’t tell exactly why he is this batch’s Sanjaya, maybe they kinda looked alike? He has good vocals but he’s performance is not one of my favorites. Well, he did carried the performance well.

Luke Menard – Everybody’s Talkin (Harry Nilsson)
He has the voice unfortunately he chose a song not suitable for him.
He might say goodbye this week.

Colton Berry - Suspicious Minds (Elvis Presley)
The one who looks like Ellen deGeneres, I agree. His performance was entertaining.

Garrett Haley – Breaking Up is Hard to Do (Neil Sedaka)
I liked the way he sang the song. The problem with this guy is his hair and his weight are kinda distracting. Yes, he really need to go out and get a tan.

Jason Castro - Daydream (Lovin’ Spoonful)
What’s with the dreadlocks? Am I the only person who thinks that he looks like the once famous pop-singer Gil? He’s the only guy who played an instrument on his performance. The best so far.

Michael Johns – Light My Fire (The Doors)
One of the great performances. Like what Simon said, this guy has the charisma.

Favorite Performance: Jason Castro, Michael Johns
Most Likely to Go: Luke Menard, Garrett Haley, Chikezie

One thing I noticed with this batch - they answer back to Simon. HAHAHAHA! The girls performances tonight. :)

That Thing Called ‘Utang Na Loob’

Actions we shared on people doesn’t require anything on return. I guess, people are just born to be kind. We often not ask for anything in return but sometimes we have to - even for just one little thing called RESPECT. As the world lives a more technological approach, respect seems to be thinning out.

Funny how sometimes we treat people as family, or maybe someone closest to us at least, whom we have shared happy times and yet has turn their backs on us just because - for reasons only them could tell. I take it back, it is not funny. It is annoying and disappointing at the same time.

I hope and pray they are happy on whatever path they took. Let’s just hope Karma won’t come to them tenfolds - just only twice.

KC Concepcion named National Ambassador for UN’s World Food Program

KC Concepcion was chosen as the newest national ambassador for United Nations’ World Food Program (WFP).

Sharon Cuneta’s eldest daughter with Gabby Concepcion was in Pikit, North Cotabato as her first destination as an ambassador. KC went on a three-month screening process (didn’t know there was a process :P). KC distributed take-home rice and took part in onsite feeding and distribution of warm formulated meals on different schools.
Looks like KC’s taking the Angelina Jolie path - using her fame to reach out for others. Mommy Sharon must have been proud. :P

I want sana to have hunger and malnutrition covered by media at least once a week because it is an issue that is as important or even more so but none is paying too much attention to it. That’s part of my job, to help WFP work to put the issue of hunger at the center. - KC Concepcion

The Amazing Couples (Marc Nelson, Paula Taylor, Rovilson Fernandez, Vanessa Chong)Could it be true that Amazing Racers Marc Nelson and Paula Taylor and Rovilson Fernandez and Vanessa Chong are dating? ;)

‘Guess actions speak louder than words. Gorgeous babes Paula Taylor and Vanessa Chong were seen in the Philippines with Marc Nelson and Rovilson Fernandez. The two alledgedly rumored couples were first seen on the Nivea event held in Davao last week of last month. The four gorgeous people were also seen and heard on various radio stations in Metro Manila.

Paula has graced the pages of Maxim Philippines with her TARA2 teammate and best friend, Natasha Monks. News has been circling around that Vanessa Chong will be the next Amazing Race Babe to be seen in the said magazine with Rovilson Fernandez as the Associate Editor.
